A letter from our founder
I didn't start a dating company because I love technology. I started one because someone I trusted turned out not to exist.
Like millions of people, I put my heart into getting to know someone online. The conversations were real to me. The feelings were real to me. The person was not. And when it all came apart, the question I couldn't let go of wasn't "how did I miss it?" — it was "why was this even possible?"
The honest answer is that the big dating apps make more money when you keep swiping than when you find someone — and fake profiles keep the numbers up. Verification is optional, which means the people who most need to be verified simply skip it.
So we're building the platform I wish had existed. On TrueOne, every single member proves they're a real person — government ID and a live selfie, checked before their profile ever appears — and then we get out of the way so real people can find each other. We're starting here at home, in Florida, one community at a time.
