Terms of Service

The terms governing jointrueone.com, the TrueOne waitlist, verified events, and the TrueOne platform — in plain English.

Last updated: July 19, 2026 · These terms govern jointrueone.com, the TrueOne waitlist, TrueOne events, and the TrueOne platform as it launches.

Plain English up front: be 18 or older, verify honestly, treat people decently, don't misuse the service, and understand that we're a platform for meeting people — not a guarantor of romantic outcomes. The details:

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using jointrueone.com, joining the waitlist, attending a TrueOne event, or creating an account on the TrueOne platform (together, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Community Guidelines (incorporated into these Terms), and our Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. What TrueOne is

TrueOne is a verification-first dating platform launching across Florida, alongside verified singles events and educational safety content. Where features described on this site are pre-launch, they are forward-looking descriptions of what we are building, not promises of dates, matches, features, or timelines.

3. Eligibility: 18+, verified, one account

You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter contracts, and not previously removed from TrueOne. Platform membership requires completing government-ID and live selfie verification. You may hold exactly one account, verified as yourself. Access on behalf of another person, with another person's identity, or via any synthetic or manipulated identity is prohibited and — where it constitutes fraud — will be referred to authorities.

4. Verification: your promises to us

When you verify, you represent that the document is your own genuine government identification and the live check is of you, unaltered by software. You understand verification confirms identity and age at the time of the check — it does not certify anyone's character, history, or intentions, and you remain responsible for your own judgment in every interaction (our Safety Center exists to sharpen it). Verification data handling is governed by the verify-and-discard commitments in our Privacy Policy.

5. Your profile and content

You retain ownership of content you post. You grant TrueOne a limited, revocable license to host and display it as needed to operate the Services — we do not sell your content or use your private messages for advertising. Your profile must be honestly you, per the Community Guidelines: your recent photos, your true basics, no material misrepresentation.

6. Conduct

The Community Guidelines are part of these Terms and govern all conduct on the platform and at events. In summary: no harassment or hate; no commercial solicitation; no requesting money, gifts, or financial information from members (an immediate-removal offense); no sharing other members' private information; respect “no.” Additionally you agree not to: scrape, harvest, or index the Services; probe or breach security; reverse-engineer the platform; automate access; or use the Services for any unlawful purpose.

7. Waitlist and founding-member offers

Joining the waitlist costs nothing and creates no obligation on either side. Waitlist position, city launch order, and any founding-member benefits are described at signup, may evolve before launch, and have no cash value. We will communicate material changes to anything you signed up for.

8. Events

TrueOne events require registration and government-ID verification at the door; guests who cannot verify, appear intoxicated, or violate conduct standards may be refused entry or removed without refund. Event tickets, where sold, state their own refund terms at purchase. You attend social events at your own judgment and risk; venue rules apply alongside ours; and you consent to reasonable event photography for TrueOne promotion unless you opt out at check-in — opting out is always available and always respected.

9. Fees and subscriptions (when they launch)

Waitlist and educational content are free. If and when paid platform features launch, pricing, billing cycles, renewal, and cancellation terms will be presented clearly before any charge, and a refund policy will be published alongside. No surprise charges, ever.

10. Suspension, termination, and the permanence of bans

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms or the Guidelines — with warnings for minor issues and immediately for fraud, solicitation of money, threats, or safety violations. Because membership requires ID verification, removal is enforced by document hash: banned members cannot return with a new profile. This permanence is a deliberate feature of TrueOne and by using the Services you acknowledge it. Where unlawful conduct is involved, we cooperate with law enforcement.

11. Safety and interactions with other members

Verification removes anonymity; it cannot remove all risk. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, online and in person. TrueOne does not conduct criminal background checks unless expressly stated for a specific feature. Use the practices in our Safety Center, and report concerns via the platform or our contact page. In emergencies, contact 911 before anything else.

12. Educational content

Our guides on scams, catfishing, and dating safety are educational information, not professional, legal, or security advice, per our Disclaimer. Scammers evolve; no guide guarantees detection or safety.

13. Intellectual property

The TrueOne name, shield mark, site design, and content are our intellectual property. Third-party platforms our guides discuss (Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and others) are trademarks of their respective owners; TrueOne is affiliated with none of them. You may share links to our content freely; republishing substantial portions requires permission.

14. Third-party services

The Services rely on third-party providers (hosting, email, form processing, identity verification) and link to external resources. We choose providers carefully but are not responsible for third-party sites, services, or their policies.

15. Disclaimers of warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement — and we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that you will meet anyone, match with anyone, or achieve any romantic outcome. Nobody honest can warrant love.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrueOne and its founders, employees, and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services or interactions with other members — and our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions limit these limitations; where they do, these apply to the maximum permitted extent.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold TrueOne harmless from claims arising out of your content, your conduct, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing anything, email us — hello@jointrueone.com — most issues resolve like adults talking.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Services evolve. The date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be notified to waitlist members and account holders by email before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

20. Contact
