Our story

TrueOne wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born from a broken heart.

Our founder experienced what millions of people go through every year: investing real time, real emotion, and real trust in someone met online — who turned out not to exist. The photos belonged to someone else. The story was a script. The feelings were real on only one side of the screen.

What stayed with us afterward wasn't just the hurt. It was the question: why was this even possible? Why does no major dating platform actually guarantee that the person you're talking to is real?

The honest answer is uncomfortable. Fake profiles inflate user counts. Endless swiping inflates engagement. The biggest platforms in dating make more money when you keep searching than when you find someone — and optional verification is a badge the dishonest simply skip. The industry's incentives are quietly aligned with the problem.

So we decided to build the alternative ourselves.

What TrueOne is

TrueOne is a verification-first dating platform launching across Florida, one city at a time. Three commitments define it:

• Everyone is verified. No exceptions. Every member passes government-ID plus live selfie verification before their profile can appear. There is no unverified tier, no optional badge, no crowd for a fake to hide in.
• We never keep you on file. Verification is performed entirely by an independent, certified identity-verification specialist. TrueOne never sees or stores your ID or your selfie — we receive only a "verified" confirmation. We call this verify-and-discard, and it's explained fully in our privacy policy.
• Built for finding someone, not for endless swiping. Curated matches instead of infinite decks, verified-only messaging, real closure instead of ghosting, and in-person verified events — because our success is measured in real relationships formed, not hours spent in the app.

Why Florida first

Dating platforms work when there are enough real, local, intentional people near you — so instead of a shallow everywhere-launch, we're going deep in one state, one metro at a time. Our waitlist decides which Florida city opens first, and our verified-at-the-door singles events build each community in person before the app arrives. Founding members get locked-in pricing and first access. Florida is also personal: it's home, and it's consistently among the states hardest hit by the romance fraud we exist to end.

Why we publish free safety guides

Our guides library — spotting catfish, recognizing romance scammers, verifying people you meet online, staying safe on first dates — is free and always will be, whether or not you ever join TrueOne. We know firsthand what this kind of deception costs, and most of it is preventable with knowledge that ought to be common. If a guide here spares one person what our founder went through, it has paid for itself.

Our promise

No one should ever be deceived, defrauded, or heartbroken by a fake person on a dating platform. On TrueOne, they can't be — because fake people can't get in.
